There are actions we can take to prevent or reduce harm before a disaster occurs. These actions are considered Hazard Mitigation, or HazMit for short.
York County aims to be HazMit Fit by updating its HazMit Plan in 2023. It is the best way to ensure there are resources to educate, prepare and protect you from flooding, extreme temperatures, radon exposure, and other potential hazards.
While the York County Planning Commission is leading this project on behalf of York County, we need input from a variety of viewpoints. Older adults have diverse lived experiences and we need your ideas and thoughts to help us work towards mitigation of both natural and manmade hazards that may impact us in the future.
Join us for a session to learn more about York County, PA’s plan and provide input to help prevent or reduce harm during times of crisis.
TroveStreet partners with York County Planning Commission to help ensure the perspectives, needs, and ideas of people age 50 and older are represented in county-wide plans.
Presented by the staff of York County Planning Commission.
